- The Opportunity We're hiring an
Engineering Manager to lead our Data/AI team.
- This team is at the core of our
platform's intelligence, owning the critical suite of products that
leverage Machine Learning and AI to help our customers save time and make
more effective decisions in their Intake to Pay workflows.
- In this role, you'll manage a team of AI
Engineers and Data engineers and serve as a technical leader within the
team's business domain.
- You'll work closely with the Director of
Platform Engineering to grow technical leadership and further develop a
highly engaged, high-performing team.

WHAT YOU'LL Do
- Lead & Mentor: Manage a team of 6-8 engineers,
providing coaching for technical excellence, fostering individual career
growth, and nurturing a high-performance culture of trust and deep
collaboration.
- Drive Velocity: Lead your team to deliver consistently
against ambitious goals. You'll define success metrics, track progress
transparently, and communicate proactively with stakeholders to ensure
alignment and celebrate wins.
- Own a Complex Domain: Own the technical direction and
long-term vision for the Data/AI team. Design a scalable data architecture
and ensure designs are architecturally sound, scalable, secure, and align
with industry best practices.
- Balance & Strategize: Think strategically to balance the
repayment of technical debt with the delivery of new feature development.
You'll be key in building both developer and product velocity for the long
term.
- Evolve our Architecture: Guide your team's efforts in designing,
creating, evolving, and maintaining scalable and efficient data pipelines,
model deployment, and monitoring frameworks.
- Forge a Leadership Triad: Partner closely with the team's Product
Manager and Product Designer, forming a high-trust triad to deeply
understand customer needs.
- Grow our Culture: Work with the engineering leadership
team to contribute to the evolution of
engineering culture, balancing innovation with disciplined
execution.
- Proven Leadership: 6+ years of software engineering
experience, including at least 2 years in a direct people management role,
and 3-5 years of experience on a Data and/or AI Engineering team
- Modern SaaS Experience: Experience building scalable,
customer-facing data products using modern technologies. We use Python,
Databricks, Azure, and Kubernetes.
- Architectural Acumen: Strong experience with Data Lakehouse
technologies (e.g. Databricks, Apache Spark), software design principles,
and data governance. You have a proven track record of building complex,
reusable architectures and guiding teams through technical complexity.
- Data Expertise: Strong understanding of Data Science
concepts in Machine Learning and Generative AI.
- Empathetic & Accountable: A self-driven, accountable leader who

- Exceptional Communicator: You excel at communicating complex
technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences, fostering
collaboration and alignment across teams.
- Modern AI Experience: Experience or strong interest in AI
technologies beyond traditional ML (e.g. Generative AI, RAG, and agentic
frameworks). Preferred
- Domain Expertise: A strong interest or background in the
FinTech ecosystem. Direct experience building products in a B2B
environment is highly desirable.
- Agile & DevOps Mindset: Strong knowledge of agile development practices (e.g., Scrum/Kanban), CI/CD, test automation, and building for observability
A
reasonable, good faith estimate - Base Salary Range: $146,000- $182,000 CAD (This range is
dependent on experience and not inclusive of any bonus, commission, benefits or
equity that might exist in your total compensation package.)

starting salary /Pay rate for this role. This range may be adjusted based on
market conditions, location, and other relevant factors. The Company will
determine the final starting salary/Pay rate in consultation with the selected
